We Love Science

We Love Science

Telescopio Nazionale Galileo and the Viceconsulate of Italy on Tenerife are pleased to announce the arrival of the exhibition "We Love Science" to La Palma.

The exhibition is born with the purpose of bringing together science and art.

Eight young artists visited eight Italian scientific research centers and created eight artworks inspired by the activities of these centers.

The works were gathered in a traveling exhibition made available to Embassies, Consulates, and Italian Institutes of Culture by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

Telescopio Nazionale Galileo actively participated in the creation of one of these contemporary art pieces, as a result of Ruth Beraha's visit to Roque de Los Muchachos Observatory in the summer of 2021.

By definition, art and science inhabit the future, although with different intentions and languages, combined by openness to experimentation and attention to complexity. The project's objective is to create an opportunity for dialogue between two sectors where Italian creativity and ingenuity are best expressed, believing that the interaction between different perspectives can lead to new visions and mutually interesting advances.

The exhibition is free and open every day from February 3rd to March 15th, 2024 (from 10:00 to 16:30) at the Roque de Los Muchachos Visitor Center on the island of La Palma.
