The visit of the Italian Consul in Tenerife at the TNG

The Italian Consul in Tenerife, dott. Gianluca Cappelli Bigazzi, visited the FGG and the TNG on Wednesday May 18th. A video was recorded to send a message to all Italians living in the Canary Islands on the occasion of the Festa della Repubblica Italiana (June 2nd).

The new Consolato Italiano has been recently opened in Arona (March 15th, 2022). The Consul took immediately the opportunity to visit the TNG as an Italian center of excellence in Canary Islands. After a short passage at the sea-level offices in San Antonio, he spent the day with the TNG staff at the Observatory of the Roque de los Muchachos. The Coordinator Adriano Ghedina explained to the Consul the performances of the telescope and the Director Ennio Poretti reported on how the TNG operates and which challenging scientific objectives is able to match.
