CalendarStars 2018 is ready!
Twenty years after TNG first light, we still serve the community with state of the art instrumentation, aiming to distant galaxies passing by, comets and investigating nearby solar systems in search of new worlds. This year the TNG spaceship is travelling also past in time, with few images stolen from the first years of this adventure. You can even cut out fold and build your own icosahedron, twenty faces for twenty years. Happy 2018 from TNG staff.

Assembly instructions:
To assembly the CalendarStars 2018 you have to cut the calendar following the solid lines showed in the next figure (easy, it is precut). Then you have to fold the dashed lines showed in the same figure (even easier, it is prefolded) and finally glue the side of the triangular parts of the calendar, being careful to leave as last triangle that corresponding to the month of February, the only without any side part.
Enjoy it! Use your fantasy and take pictures of your built icosahedron in your preferred place! Post it on our FaceBook page.

Three color image of the Ring Nnebula (M57) in the Lyrae constellation. The Ring Nebula was observed in 2000 with OIG (BVR filters), the camera for direct imaging at optical wavelengths @ TNG (already dimissed).
Three color image for the nearby galaxy NGC 6946 observed in 2000 with Dolores (Device Optimized for the LOw RESolution) in the filters BVR. This spiral galaxy which is located between the Northern constellations of Chepheus and Cygnus is only at 22 million light years from the Earth.
This three color image is the sum of several exposures of Jupiter taken with ADOPT @ TNG (Adaptive Optics for the TNG, already dismissed) in 2007 using the infrared filters: 1mic, CH4L and BrG.

This picture showing the telescope in Ansaldo factory near Milano (Italy), was taken in December 1994. The telescope structure, after testing in the Ansaldo factory, was disassembled and gradually transported and installed in the Roque de Los Muchachos (La Palma, Canary Islands), in parallel with the rotating dome.
The picture immortalizes an important moment during the inauguration ceremony of the Telescopio Nazionale Galileo that took place in the Roque de Los Muchachos (La Palma, Canary Islands), in 1996.
This plan is a copy of the project created for the building of the dome of the Telescopio Nazionale Galileo.
