P Cyg observing by SARG

Small portion of the spectrum of the blue luminous variable P Cyg obtained during the June 9 night with SARG@TNG. The spectrum (S/N ~ 100, R=86,000) was obtained with the red grism in 5 minutes among clouds and it originally covers the spectral range 450 - 1030 nm. The plot shown was obtained with the on-line quick - look facility within the SARG user interface. It shows the He I line at 587.6 nm (with the classical P Cyg profile), as well as the complex structure of the Na D lines (both the broad circumstellar lines as well as at least 4 interstellar components are visible). The spectrum has been flat fielded but not wavelength calibrated (wavelength increases leftward).
