HARPS-N Data Reduction Update - Decommissioning of DRS32
Fig. 1 HARPS-N data reduction refurbishment.
As of 27th of October 2025, the original HARPS-N Data Reduction System (DRS32), in use since 2012, has been officially decommissioned. This implies that the legacy DRS32 reduction code will not be run anymore on the TNG servers.
A new pipeline, originally developed for ESPRESSO, has been adapted and configured to be run at the TNG. This new software completely substitutes the old DRS32 reduction system.
HARPS-N observations are now processed exclusively with the new ESPRESSO-based DRS, which ensures a more uniform, stable, and up-to-date reduction improving overall consistency and long-term reliability across the instrument's full dataset.
The whole HARPS-N dataset (2012-now) has been reprocessed with the new pipeline.
