TNG 30th Anniversary: the winners of the Photography and Literary Contests

To celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the Telescopio Nazionale Galileo (TNG), the Fundación Galileo Galilei - INAF launched the two international creative contests dedicated to the telescope and its legacy: a Photography Contest and a Literary Contest.

Open to participants from around the world, the two initiatives invited people to celebrate the TNG, astronomy and the Universe through images and words, highlighting the scientific, cultural and inspirational value of the telescope and its unique location at the Roque de los Muchachos Observatory in La Palma.

The Literary Contest

The Literary Contest, open to participants aged 10 and over, invited authors to submit short stories or poems inspired by astronomy, the TNG, the Roque de los Muchachos Observatory and the island of La Palma. The competition was divided into age categories, with works accepted in both Italian and Spanish.

The Photography Contest

The Photography Contest, open to participants aged 18 and over, called for original images inspired by the theme “Telescopio Nazionale Galileo”. The submissions were evaluated according to their technical and aesthetic quality, realism, originality and relevance to the theme.
