Stellar pulsations in the exoplanet era

Speaker: Ennio Poretti (INAF-OA Brera, Milano, Italia)

Date and time: 2014-02-07 11:30

The study of stellar oscillations has received a strong pulse from space missions such as CoRoT and Kepler. Although not all answers we are looking for are in the space data, our knowledge of the stellar physics and pulsation is rapidly progressing thanks to some confirmations and new discoveries. I will review some topics related to classes of variable stars located in the instability strip and how the future of asteroseismology and the search for other Earths are strictly connected.
