Development of an innovative heat-rejector prototype for the GREGOR solar telescope

Speaker: Adalia Caroli (University of Rome "Tor Vergata")

The management, control and reduction of local seeing is a critical issue for large telescopes, especially for solar ones like the future European Solar Telescope (EST). For this purpose, an innovative approach to the problem of the optical components thermalization based on on a Liquid Jet Impingement Cooling System was proposed - within the frame of the SOLARNET project - for the future heat-rejecter of the EST, and a prototype based on such design is currently being developed for the GREGOR solar telescope in Tenerife.
